ABOUT WOW TANZANIA

Our organization is dedicated to lifting impoverished single-parent families, especially working-aged widows and their children, out of the cycle of poverty. Our mission is clear: to empower these families to attain economic self-sufficiency while ensuring access to quality education for their children, thus breaking the chains of intergenerational poverty.

We provide comprehensive assistance through a multifaceted approach, offering entrepreneurship training and job opportunities for parents, as well as providing school sponsorships for their children. We aim to equip families with the tools they need for financial independence and academic success. Our entrepreneurship training programs are tailored to single parents, particularly young widows, providing intensive instruction in business principles, financial management, and marketing strategies. By empowering parents to generate sustainable income, we pave the way for long-term economic stability.

Recognizing education as vital for social mobility, we extend school sponsorships to cover various educational expenses, ensuring children's unfettered access to quality education. Investing in their academic development empowers these children to break free from poverty's shackles. Our Sponsor-a-Child program offers holistic assistance, including healthcare, housing, nutritious food, clothing, clean water access, and academic tutoring. Addressing multifaceted needs creates a nurturing environment for overall well-being and academic success. Healthcare remains a top priority, ensuring access to essential services such as medical check-ups, vaccinations, and treatment for illnesses and injuries.

Stable housing is fundamental, so we provide assistance including rental subsidies and home repairs. Addressing food insecurity, we implement initiatives like our Chicken Farm, Vegetable Gardens, and Cafe to ensure access to nutritious meals. Access to clean water is crucial, so we undertake well-building projects to provide safe drinking water sources, particularly benefiting vulnerable women and children. Mrs. Paula Chomba, WOW Tanzania NGO Chairman and Co-Founder

Mrs. Paula Chomba is the WOW Tanzania NGO Chairman and Co-Founder. With a BA from Temple University in Pennsylvania USA, over the past 20 years, she has successfully run her own music publishing company, EbbanFlow Productions. Having worked with many international independent record labels, and major record companies such as Warner Music France, Universal Music, Saft Music Spain, and others, she has gathered priceless experience in communications, marketing, and promotion for herself, other artists, and companies as well. Her skills include: making a product stand out amongst competitors, communicating with clients and advertising to new ones through social media and other online platforms, excellent verbal and written communication skills that include public speaking and presentations, excellent organization skills, and leading the development and implementation of a company’s marketing, branding, and communication activities.

Mrs. Betsie Green, WOW Tanzania NGO Treasurer and Co-Founder.

Mrs. Betsie Green is the WOW Tanzania NGO Treasurer and Co-Founder. Betsie is a chartered accountant who has been trained as an auditor and worked for Ernst & Young on enterprises in retail, small business, the oil industry, and the financial services sector. With a Master of Science Degree in Risk Management in Financial Services, her recent engagements in the private sector focused on operational risk management in the financial services sector in the United Kingdom.

Mr. Mike Chomba, WOW Tanzania NGO Executive Director and Co-Founder.

Mr. Mike Chomba is the WOW Tanzania NGO Executive Director and Co-Founder. As a production manager for Pamukai Construction Company in Zambia and also having run his own construction company called, Mikelo-Tech Enterprises, he is qualified and experienced in the construction sector. His skills include: inspecting final products to assess compliance with quality standards, production worker, monitoring machinery in operation, identifying concerns and making corrections, reporting and solving complex problems, documenting production information via daily system logs, material loading and unloading, machinery operator, forklift operation, and examining incoming materials and documentation for accuracy and quality.

Mr. Andrew McGregor, WOW Tanzania NGO Director of Digital Marketing, and a member of the Board of Directors.

Mr. Andrew McGregor is the Director of Digital Marketing and a member of the Board of Directors member. Over the past 15 years, Andrew has worked in both transportation and advertising management. As a transportation manager for a major food service transportation company and at sister transportation and logistics companies. He has been a highly adept and success-driven leader experienced in commercial logistics management with efficiency in planning and performance maximization. Possesses excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Manages and oversees the Dispatching of an average of 50 trucks per day and manages over 50 direct reports. Handles DOT compliance, safety, and equipment maintenance aspects of the transportation department. Oversees the onboarding of new employees. Trains and monitors employees as well as oversee scheduling and routing. Andrew has also worked as a Digital Marketing Manager at SEO Exposed an Advertising Agency in Cincinnati OH, USA. He is an experienced digital marketing manager with extensive experience building and managing successful digital marketing campaigns. Collaborative and creative manager accomplished at managing digital marketing presence. Experienced in leading teams of marketing professionals to meet and exceed digital marketing goals.
